Located between Redmond and Bend, Oregon, Juniper Preserve sits on 20,000 acres of federally protected juniper forest and features a slew of health and wellness activities, lodging options, culinary outlets, hiking trails, golf, and more. At the end of July, it debuted its new customizable wellness retreats available to anyone from a solo traveler to corporate meetings and groups of up to 50.
“Customizable wellness retreats at Juniper Preserve emphasize the interconnectedness of body, mind, and spirit, demonstrating that nurturing one aspect enriches the entire self,” explains Maddison Stephens, wellness director at Juniper Preserve. “Wellness retreats can be created for the individual or for those looking to add programming while hosting a retreat. Corporate meetings, incentive trips, and executive retreats can offer crafted experiences for their program as well.”
When arranging a customized wellness itinerary at Juniper, planners can select from a menu of enriching activities ranging from yoga, sound baths, and guided nature walks to fire ceremonies, breathwork, dancing, and more. “Juniper Preserve retreats are ideal for group team building by allowing interaction and growth in a relaxed, mind-opening environment,” adds Stephens. “Our retreats spur innovative thinking, break down barriers, improve communication, build trust, and allow team members to recognize individual strengths in others—all while experiencing one-of-a-kind locations.”
Juniper’s on-site spaces for hosting wellness outings include its Fireside Room, Wellness Center, Lava Cave, Ghost Tree Forest and Lawn, and Spirit Island. The Ghost Tree Forest is named after the eye-catching ancient trees on-site, which are barren of leaves and have hauntingly striking silhouettes. Spirit Island is an entirely private destination home to an on-site golf course, panoramic views of the nearby Cascade Mountains, and plenty of green space for outdoor activities.
Beyond wellness venues, Juniper Preserve offers overnight accommodations in its Juniper Lodge, featuring 104 guest rooms with designs inspired by the surrounding natural landscapes—think warm wood furnishings and soft organic materials. There are three culinary outlets at Juniper Preserve: The Coyote serves up morning coffee and pastries and pre-dinner cocktails and beers; Trailhead Grill provides diverse menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with outdoor and poolside seating available; and Grill on the Green, located near The Horn Golf Shop attached to the lodge, offers light bites and cocktails.
Juniper’s two primary golf courses are the Jack Nicklaus Signature Course and the Tom Fazio Championship Course; in addition to a driving range and academy, the latter is also available to book for private lessons. “With our inspiring high-desert outdoor event spaces, dedication to group wellness programming, and [opportunities for] networking on our award-winning golf courses, we have the ability to offer a memorable and unique experience to our group guests,” says Stephens.
